Birthday Break ups, New beginnings

by frugalista on February 20, 2008

I need something free, fun and great to do on my birthday. Usually, I’m at Lucky Strike on Miami Beach bowling, throwing a party with my good friends. This year, I had planned to be in New York with the guy I was dating. Let’s just say that he and I are no longer dating. The break up started on Monday and ended on Tuesday. Last week, I did a V-day post about state of the relationship. I can stand firm in saying today that’s it’s over.

So, here I am, not able to splurge on my big day because of the no-buy month. I have only three days to plan. What can a girl do? Please offer suggestions. I’m a big birthday person. God’s giving me another year, something I am thankful for. Time to rejoice, boyfriend or not.

Aww man :-( No-buy month or not, you should only be going in your purse for more lip gloss on your B-Day!
Pick a spot with no cover charge,(any promoter with a heart would waive that on your B-day anyway)invite all your friends and loose acquaintances, and temporarily forget about that last relationship!

I guess you arent making it to NYC anymore…
I dont think you should have to spend anything. A friend should be taking you out to dinner or something. I second Coco’s comment…Club promoters usually setup a real nice party for you with free cover bottle of champage etc..I know you know a few upscale promoters.. You will feel much better after you have planned something

Sorry to hear about your recent developments but expenses associated with a long distance relationship doesn’t seem to be in line with what you want you are trying to do now.
You better have a party though. You deserve it.

Happy birthday! How about a picnic on the beach with some friends. People come from all over the world to enjoy our beaches and we have them in our backyard. Nothing like a long walk, good food and friends to make the day special. Try to time it so you can see the sunset. It will definitely be memorable.
