One of my favorite books is Girl Get Your Money Straight by Glinda Bridgforth. This book takes a common sense approach to getting your financial house in order. Bridgforth is the first person to make it clear to me that if you want to save money, you have to stop running in the streets. Gas, tolls, cover charges and other expenses add up quickly. This no-buy month, I’ve stepped out a little bit, but have cut back my worldly ways. My bank account is looking sexier than anything I could see on Sobe.
Another book I like is Young, Fabulous & Broke by Suze Orman. Suze doesn’t just talk about paying down debt, but also discusses pursuing career dreams to live a life of prosperity.
