The public libraries are usually THEE best places to find anything from the latest book, to the latest DVDs and why not CDs, too. My library has a “request it” option online. I log on, request, and then wait for an email from the library to say “Your book/movies/music are in! Come pick them up!” It’s like Christmas everytime one of those emails comes to me.
So, I say try the local library. Sometimes it may take a while if it is a new or popular title (i.e., Oprah’s latest book club feature), but as you have said in so many words, small changes now will help immensely for your future. We are trying to go strictly cash ourselves (me, hubby, and 3 young children). So far it’s been tough BUT do-able.

Music costs .89 on Amazon. You spend more on a soda than you do for a song on Amazon. I’m the kind of person who rather just get a few songs than spend $15 on an entire album, so I always feel like I’m saving money when buying songs online.
But if you don’t want to go that route, listen to Yahoo! music’s personalized radio player. You can tell it which artists you like, so you can listen to all the Erykah you want (but it does insert commercials and “recommended” artists in between the artists you like, but you can just hit the skip button.)
You don’t have to cut back on the music you love to be a frugalista!

You can always find a download happy buddy who can find the leaked Erykah album on the internet and burn it for you for free…but that might be illegal, huh?

Hang in there Frugalista! I know it is tough with the music that plays on the radio but at least you have other channels you can check out. Perhaps a friend has already purchased the cd and you can get a free copy
I’m sure in the end you would much rather have the money over the cd right?????? Ok maybe not but hang in there anyway.

So question — are you just going to go back to your buying ways after no-buy month? Doesn’t really seem very much like you are a frugalista.
