Former Heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield is getting knocked out financially.
Holyfield’s $10 million estate in suburban Atlanta is in foreclosure, according to the Associated Press. His mansion has 17 bathrooms, three kitchens and a bowling alley. Whew!
Holyfield defaulted on a $10 million loan to Washington Mutual Bank, which will auction off his home on the courthouse steps, says the article.
Mr. Real Deal had a long and great boxing career. Sure, Mike Tyson chewed his ear off , but for the $200 million earned during his career, he could take the chewing like a champ.
How can he get back on his feet? Should Evander go on Dancing with the Stars again? Should we send him a link to this blog? What do you do with 17 bathrooms? Now, he has a lot of children, but 17 bathrooms? Should rich people just decide to live off half their income?

This is so sad to me – I mean, people who get money off of fame and fortune need to realize that money isn’t coming in every two weeks. They need to budget and plan. He should have bought a more modest house outright — Ed McMahon, too. I mean, people don’t need 17 bathrooms!!
I think it’s Suzy Orman who’s always said that rich people don’t pay mortgages. The tax bennies aren’t worth it because of interest. It should hold true with everyone!
These people aren’t victims of bad banking practices, they are victims of greed. Ed McMahon has a nasty credit card bill too — hundreds of thousands!!

Holyfield needed a manager with integrity and brains and got one with neither. He also needed a vasectomy and did not get one.
Should we vilify the man? HECK NO !! How many are there out there who have done a lot worse with a lot more? Plenty.
I for one hope he gets it together. He is a good person who did not associate himself with the best people. If I were his friend, he would be enjoying every one of those bathrooms.
The guy lives in a freakin mansion half the size of Buckingham Palace in a pretty low rent area off Old National Highway, and to me that’s just rubbing it in the faces of those who live near him. It looks ridiculous, as it stands out. This is just another example of an immature RICH idiot who can’t manage his own $$$, and now wants everyone to feel sorry for him. Let me have just one year of what he made, and I’d never work again, and everyting I own would be paid off. GROW UP EVANDER.

Everyone needs a course on how to budget properly.
It’s time for him to open a B’n'B, a bed and breakfast. As for criticizing him building in a poor area, well then let’s toss Magic Johnson under the bus too for investing in low income areas. If he opens a B’n'B and works with the SBA and the community, they could provide for themselves with small businesses. Like someone in that neighborhood has to be able to cook, another person could do the muffins and cookies. Someone could do van tours — Hotlanta is a great place to shop. No sympathy for his situation. If I had a wealth of money, first thing I would do is buy a house and pay it off, then put money in escrow to provide for insurance and taxes for life.
When I watch shows on like VH1, E, etc. about how the stars live I never understand why they have houses that have more bathrooms than bedrooms. If it’s a 5 bedroom house, why you got 10 bathrooms. Makes no sense to me.
