McDonald’s battles Starbucks for gourmet Coffee

Mcdonalds
I know that there is a segment of the American population that is addicted to Starbucks. However, Starbucks has had a rough summer, closing down several hundred stores because of the soft economy. With $4 gas, no one wants to spend $4 for a latte. Real talk. Now McDonald’s is going straight for Starbucks’ logo. The fast-food joint launched unsnobbycoffee.com this year. On the menu?  Iced lattes, iced mochas and cappuccinos. And guess where people can find this unsnobby coffee? At McCafe’s in Seattle a.k.a. Starbucks’ backyard.  I wonder if there are plans to branch out with more McCafes across the nation? On another note, I’ve noticed that one of my best friends now drinks coffee from Dunkin’ Donuts because her Starbucks addiction was too pricey.

Would you drink a McDonald’s latte? Can McDonald’s put Starbucks out of business? Is it time that someone challenge Starbucks’ $4 drinks? Is coffee a big money waster?

Thanks J-Leb for the tip!
