Oh isn't it a shame that the housewives of America be deprived of their botox in these tough economic times?? Ok, snarkiness aside, I really think people should NOT be worrying about fixing their exterior appearance when they need to be worried about the appearance of their savings accounts. Don't get me wrong, I'm not pretending to be above vanity and pampering myself. A few years ago I spent a good amount of money (a couple grand) on laser hair removal for my face and body. Even though it was a bit expensive for me at the time, it was well worth it because it saved me a lot of pain and frustration with waxing/plucking. Not to mention getting precious hours spent removing hair back! I also wanted to get electrolysis on my brows but couldn't afford it in addition to everything else at the time. Now I just get them threaded every 3 - 4 weeks. Its not a huge sacrifice at all, and the price is right.

Girl, why you put that scary picture up there?
I only know people who have had breast augmentation and I think insurance pays for part of that if it's messing with your back.

I think that women will always find a way to maintain their appearance, no matter how bad the economy is. In fact,I wrote my blog post today about the failing economy and how women turn to more affordable indulgences like lipstick.

Haven't had plastic surgery. Used to be adamantly against it until I saw a few cases on TV where it changed people's lives for the happier. There are folks who are more confident because of it, and good for them. Truth is it's a luxury though and people are having a hard enough time paying for gas (even though the price is down) and food still. My question is "should so many people have been spending thousands on plastic surgery when they didn't have any savings?"

Haven't had any plastic surgery but friends and family have had it all: gastric bypass, lap bands, breast implants, tummy tucks, eye fixes, face lifts, lipo for a teenager and two friends with breast reduction. Let's not forget the money spent on veneers and invisible braces and dental fixtures. All I'm doing is coloring the gray. And I'm doing smile exercises. I'm practicing smiling. I'm hoping it covers my fault lines.
