Should Tiger Woods lose his endorsement deals?

Gracious! Unless you’ve been living underneath a rock, you know about all of the drama with golfer Tiger Woods and his alleged infidelity. I swear, every other cocktail waitress in the land has nabbed media coverage detailing alleged romps with the golf superhero. I mean, it’s become a cottage industry getting paid to sing like a canary to tabloids about allegedly sexing a married man. I pray cocktail waitresses get organized and start a union with tell-all rates. I digress.

The golfer, who’s practically worth the GDP of an industrialized nation, has lost his  Gatorade Tiger Focus drink since his tragic car accident at his Florida mansion. PepsiCo said the drink was going to be dropped-even before Tiger’s domestic troubles. Oh-kay.

I’m wondering, though, is that right? He’s still a great golfer, no? Now, he’s losing cash left and right. I’m sure he has plenty of money in the bank. I mean, eating breakfast meals at Perkins does not make one a pauper.

If his wife leaves him, Tiger stands to have to pay at least $20 million and possibly into the $70 millions, according to reports.

Should money management include IMAGE management? The better the image, the more money you make? Should he lose his endorsements? Do you think the media brought him down? What do we need to do for our image or brand to make sure we keep our money!

I don’t think he should lose his endorsement deals, unless the companies feel that he won’t be able to sell their products anymore. Gatoraid was already going to can (sorry!) the sports drink.

But the media didn’t bring him down – HE brought HIM down. 1) Cheating on his wife and 2) picking women that would sell out for some money. This proves my point again – a quality woman won’t cost a man crazy money.

I believe that endorsements should be pulled in certain cases but this is not one of them. There have been a ton of celebrities who have publicly admitted to having an affair. Many of them are still getting movie roles and acting in commercials. Heck, even Martha Stewart is still around and endorsing things!

He has DESTROYED the reasons for his endorsements.

1)Top of HIS game – withdraws from HIS own tournament?!
2)Happy father & family man – I would be very surprised it there isn’t a video out there trying to be monetized as we speak. The text hit TODAY.
3) Corporate spokes person – well we are seeing Tigers communication skills without a script in front of him.

Yes he should loose them. It won’t be ALL, be some will leave. What is happening to him, while a private matter to most of us. Is what he signed up for with said endorsement deals. You take the good with the bad. Here comes the bad squared by his past actions.

No i don’t think he should lose his endoresments but i get it, he represents the company to some degree so it’s up in the air. On one hand ,he was selected because he is a great golfer, and from what I know, that hasn’t changed so he should keep his endorsements. Now think about the fact that some of the companies he has been asked to represent try to give off this whole “family oriented” image in which case Tiger isn’t the best rep…. Tiger’s been a bad boy….and I this is just a part of the consequences.
