What happens in Vegas

by frugalista on January 13, 2010

powerlunch Will be blogged! Hello, my pretties! I’ve missed you. I took a quick trip out to Las Vegas to take part in the hoopla of the Consumer Electronics Show.

I was invited to a press junket sponsored by Swagg, an upcoming mobile product that aims to allow you swap gift cards, find bargains and coupons. Swagg is being developed by Firethorn which is owned by Qualcomm, which is considered the biggest tech company that’s not a household name. Clearly, it’s trying to change that.

I didn’t get a lot of details at the event, but I’ll be getting more info on it as time goes on so I’ll keep you in the loop. It should be available for the holidays.

I’m noticing that mobile is really all the rage these days. I know I just added a plug in to my site so you can read thefrugalista.com easier when you are on your phones. I’m trying! :) Also, please let me know how the site reads if you use your cell phone to access it. I need my Frugalsitas to be comfortable.

Anyhow, I had a great time in Vegas. STYLEMOM site owner, Nichelle, who I met at Blogalicious, invited me to go to lunch at Nordstrom’s with Laura from Lollieshopping and Junior J. at Jetsetsocialite. They are some TRUE fashionistas. Junior rocks high heels and a cardigan like no other. Laura is a fashion enthusiast who is just as passionate about H&M as she is Trina Turk. After lunch we all took a stroll around the Fashion Mall in Vegas. :) I was disciplined, only buying a winter scarf that Nichelle picked out for me. We all know how cold it’s been on the East Coast, so my purchase was worth it. Furthermore, Nichelle has awesome taste and a good eye for sales. The scarf was originally $118, but I got it for $40. Yay!

It was great meeting new and old friends, networking and learning about new products.

2010 may be kind of great!

I stole the photo from Laura at Lollieshopping. She’s the one in the bangs!
