Meow! Go to PETCO this weekend (July 8-10) and get two free cans of Royal Canin. With each can of food given away, Royal Canin will match it with a donation to the PETCO foundation.
I think this giveaway is the perfect incentive to donate food to pet shelters. Since the real estate market took a hit, so many people are leaving their pets behind after eviction. My poor apartment complex has so many stray cats, I can barely walk down my steps without coming across a ball of fur napping in the shade. Poor kitties!
I’ll be glad when the market picks up and people are able to feed their pets and not abandon them. I will also be glad when people start getting their cats fixed. Out of all of the millions of animals housed in shelters, cats top the list.
Have you noticed an increase of stray pets where you live? How do you deal with it? Do you call an animal shelter? Are you a pet owner? Are you a cat or a dog person?

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely be heading over there to get food for Maxmillian Sassypants Sebastian B_____ aka Max the Wonder Cat.
I’ve not noticed any strays in my building. Almost all of my neighbors have big dogs and they look pretty well fed.
I have a cat ONLY to ensure that mice are kept far, far away. So as a reward and because my cat is earning his keep I have to feed him, … right? This PETCO deal is great news for me as cat food is RIDICULOUSLY expensive as far as I’m concerned. What a great birthday -ve gift for me! Thanks again, Frugalista!
I hope you can take a proactive approach to help the cats in your apartment complex and contact a TNR group near you. Or you can do the TNR yourself by contacting your local Humane Society or ASPCA.
