Pizza Boxes as Art

by frugalista on October 10, 2011

Recycled Pizza Boxes Make Art Ok, I know I’ve done a few posts about people getting creative with re-using old materials like Starburst wrappers for prom dresses or $1,000 designer heels made with trash, but I think that a woman who has has designed beautiful pieces of wall art out of old pizza boxes is exceptional! Yes, pizza boxes! You know, the boxes that you flatten out and throw away after scarfing down your medium cheese pizza. I think her wall art is unique because out of the different types of cardboard boxes, I’d say pizza boxes are the least likely to be reused. They aren’t big enough to store clothes in or sturdy enough to use for shipping. And they are kind of wide. But this wall art is tre gorgeous to me. You’d have to use extra care to make sure that there are no crumbs or sauce left behind. Ant infestation is not sexy, but outside of that…iLove!!

What do you think? Would you try it out? Is it a bit much? What’s your favorite type of pizza? I’m Team Deep Dish. Most people from Chicago tend to be that way! :)

My 1st thought is “Classy dwelling for roaches with style” But yeah, they look nice.

I mean, it’s always a concern…Paper + cheese could turn it into a roach condo, but I think it’s doable. Maybe the boxes should be treated with some boric acid, first!

I think you could wipe the boxes out or spray with Lysol if they are icky (sometimes, they aren’t). Then I would seal the boxes with packaging tape. Then cover. I’m wondering what she hung them with? Maybe those stick-on hanging tabs? That would hold something this light-weight.
