Frugalista’s Top Fab 4

by frugalista on November 2, 2011

Hey, Frugs! Here’s a round up of some events and websites that may make your life a little bit more frugal and fun! :)

1) #dealchat: I’m hosting a Twitter #dealchat on consignment and resale shopping tonight at 8 p.m. est so follow me @frugalista. I have the most fabulous guests! I booked Jeanne Nicholson, director of marketing for Second Time Around. Yes, THAT Second Time Around from the informative and intriguing show Fashion Hunters on Bravo. She’s going to give us all the insider scoop on how to get the most for your pieces and what consignment shops are looking to buy! Also, I have Tasha from Imperfect Concepts Boutique, an online shop that has quite a few resale items. What I like about Tasha is that she’s a young entrepreneur whose shop is for the fashionable and price conscious! So we’ll have frugal fashionistas at the chat who can talk about reselling five-figure Birkin bags to finding the cutest $25 pre-owned clutch.

2) Miami Book Fair: It’s official! I will speak at 12:30 p.m. in room 3410 on Nov. 19 at the Miami Book Fair International. I really hope that if you are in Miami, you consider stopping by! I’d love to meet other money savers in real life! Also, books are sexy! Buy some! :) I’m also going to be at the West Palm Beach Library at 6pm on Nov. 9.

3) Huffington Post: I got named to the Huffington Post’s TwitterPowerhouses series list. I was one of 42 amazing women called “Passionistas” for aiming to make the world a better place and tweeting about it! :) Thank you to the judges 2morrownight, Ann Tran and Elainne Ramos It’s an awesome honor!

4) The Second Act website listed 10 Cool Websites for Frugalistas. Quite a few of my blogging buddies are on there, so please give it a look. The Second Act did a good job and I thank them for showing TheFrugalista.com some love!

BTW: That head shot is a photo of me in my Halloween costume. I went to a Halloween party at the Viceroy Hotel on Saturday night. Although the party was free, I split the $20 parking with my friend. Yay! I don’t know if I should be ashamed or proud that everything I needed to be Foxxy Cleopatra was right there in my closet. I should have been born with a disco ball in my hand! Gah!
