Is Christine Lagarde a Frugalista?

by frugalista on November 21, 2011

Yay! So I watched 60 minutes last night and was really intrigued by Christine Lagarde, the first woman to become managing director of the International Montetary Fund. I immediately got some Frugalista vibes from her. She does her own grocery shopping, wears a Birkin bag and is a top money boss! Check out her Vogue shoot. I think a Frugalista is what’s needed to help the world get its economic act together! The IMF works to “foster global monetary cooperation, secure financial stability, facilitate international trade, promote high employment and sustainable economic growth, and reduce poverty around the world.” I got that from direct from the IMF website.

A quote from the interview, discussing how she deals with egos on the job and stays grounded:
“There is life and there is death. And there is love. And all of that ego business is nonsense compared to that.”

Get ’em, straight, Christine! Ms. Lagarde if you’re nasty!
