It’s holiday time for the real Frugalistas: The New Year!!! The passion for personal finance and budgeting is high in January, and I love it. I have to admit that I’m not the most conventional when it comes to budgeting. I don’t use a spreadsheet. I use a hybrid of paper and pen for adding and subtracting and when I’m not too scared of it, I use mint.com. When you don’t carry debt, things become much more simple. I know I’m not disciplined enough to use a spreadsheet, but I admire those who do!
Here is a link to an article I did on Frugal and Fabulous New Year Budgeting Tips for The Washington Post’s RootDC website.
Also, I had the privilege of chatting with the awesome Michel Martin, host of NPR’s Tell Me More. We rapped about everything from New Year’s budgeting to coupons on a date! I really wanted to tell her everything!! Listen below!

So tell ME more about how you budget! Are you a spreadsheeter? Do you use paper and pen? Any software? Sharing is caring!
