Save Money: Turn a Coffee Can Into a WI-FI Antenna

by frugalista on June 12, 2012

So, I am a bit Wi-Fi obsessed, as any young professional. I’m known for crashing fine establishments, just to suck up use the free Wi-Fi. I’m human. Social media industry website Mashable has peaked my interest with an article on how to make a DIY Wi-Fi antenna out of a coffee can. Who knew? Now, it won’t give you free Wi-Fi, but it will help you get a stronger signal. This coffee can solution runs about $5, instead of the normal $100 for a commercial antenna. Not a bad way to save money, right? Also, if that’s one last coffee can in a landfill, then we’ve been good to Mother Earth! Check out the video below!
