Personal Finance Book Reads

frugalista-files-coverHey Frugs. Marketplace asked me to recommend a summer book read, and I was happy to help out. No, I couldn’t recommend The Fruaglista Files: How One Woman Got Out of Debt Without Giving Up the Fabulous Life. So my pick? Why Good Girls Don’t Get Ahead…But Gutsy Girls Do: 9 Secrets Every Career Woman Must Know by Kate White.

I read this book when I was in college and it really prepared me for how the real world actually works. The times that I’ve had the most success in my career were when I was the gutsygirlsmost gusty. Don’t always worry about being liked. It will keep you in the popular poor house! Being decent and fair are more important.

If you need a NEW career, be sure to look for and apply for jobs using my CareerBuilder link. I’m here to help!

I hope you listen to my short Marketplace segment and the other summer book picks of some more personal finance experts. Who says a summer book read has to be trashy romance lit? Wait, that sounds like fun, too. Read it all! :)

What are you reading this summer?
